Active Learning Object Repository Application
History
ALORA is an acronym for Active Learning Object Repository Application.
ALORA is basically a database of digital object records with a ColdFusion/Flash hybrid front-end. The idea behind ALORA is to allow many other systems and front-end applications to tap into it's resources using web services.
ALORA is a digital object metadata storage and retrieval system build to allow the cataloguing of any type of digital object using any metadata schema from Dublin Core to VRA.
The primary interface to this system is DU CourseMedia™.
Platforms
ALORA is a Coldfusion-based web application running on CF8 with a mySQL database. The primary method of data injection is through XML upload. To edit records in detail- there is also a Flash-based management tool.
